Patient teaching
Teach-back
Ask the patient to explain it back in their own words
Not an acronym, but it belongs with them: the standard method for confirming that teaching was understood. The patient explains the instruction back rather than answering yes to "do you understand?".
How it gets tested
Items give four ways to check understanding and ask which confirms it. Anything answerable with yes or no is the wrong answer.
