Rupture of the amniotic sac before labour starts. Preterm PROM (PPROM) is the same event before 37 weeks. The same letters mean passive range of motion elsewhere.

How it gets tested

Tested against AROM and SROM, and as a context item: PROM on an orthopedic chart is a different abbreviation.
