IVP
intravenous push
A dose given directly into the IV line over a short time, by syringe. Also the abbreviation for an intravenous pyelogram, a kidney X-ray — context tells them apart.
How it gets tested
Distinguished from IVPB (a secondary bag infused over a longer period) and from a continuous infusion. Items describe the delivery and ask which term fits.
