respiratory distress syndrome
Breathing difficulty in newborns, most often premature ones, from immature lungs. ARDS is the unrelated adult condition with a similar name.
How it gets tested
The confusable pair is RDS (newborn, surfactant) versus ARDS (adult, acute injury). Items test that the two are different conditions.
