diabetes mellitus

A group of conditions involving elevated blood glucose. Type 1 and type 2 differ in mechanism, not only in age of onset.

How it gets tested

Note the near-collision: DM is diabetes mellitus, DI is diabetes insipidus, and they are unrelated conditions.
