CK-MB
creatine kinase, MB isoenzyme
The heart-specific fraction of creatine kinase. An older marker of heart muscle damage, largely replaced by troponin.
How it gets tested
Appears as a distractor or a secondary marker in MI items; the exam point is that troponin is the more specific test.
