bpm
beats per minute (also breaths per minute)
The unit for heart rate and, in some charts, for respiratory rate — which is why the two are usually written as HR and RR to avoid ambiguity.
How it gets tested
Tested indirectly: normal adult ranges for HR and RR in bpm are among the most reliably examined numbers.
