Arterial blood gas
A blood sample drawn from an artery rather than a vein, reported as a set of values including pH, carbon dioxide and bicarbonate.
How it gets tested
Entrance exams ask what the letters stand for and what makes the sample arterial. Interpreting the values comes later, and ROME is the mnemonic for it.
